Rumors & Facts

Let me first start by saying that the rumors and facts in the following sections are not separated.  The rumors may be facts and vice versa.  The things you read here are only theories, sadly, though I wish for Mr. Snicket's case that they were otherwise.  O and E and their henchmen are not making this easy and it becomes harder and harder each day to separate the truth from the lies and lies from the other lies hiding behind the truth, hiding behind the lies.  Hopefully, one day, with the help of V.F.D., the true truth can be told to the general public.

About Beatrice:

Okay, that said, I'm going to start with what I think is the most controversial theory about "A Series of Unfortunate Events."
Many people believe that Beatrice, whom Mr. Snicket refers to many times in each book, is the mother of the Baudelaire children.  Many justify this theory by stating that this is the reason that Mr. Snicket is compelled to write about the Baudelaire children, because he was in love with their mother and her feels that he is helping her by helping her children.  I didn't want to believe these theories, but recently, while rereading the Unauthorized Autobiography, I found this little bit of information in a letter addressed to Mr. Snicket from the Duchess:

Pg. 26, "Beatrice, of course, is far past complaining about lost possessions--the very reason, I am certain, that you have dedicated your life to researching the lives of those three Baudelaire children."

I did have other evidence supoprting this theory but I cannot remember what book or which page it was contained in.  Oh, well.. perhaps I can find it later, before Count Olaf burns it.

Lemony Snicket's Real/Pen Name?

I recently read an interview between Snicket and an anonymous person on the official website.  In the interview Snicket mentioned his "Pen's name."   http://www.lemonysnicket.com/faq.html  (See question #2).  This interview leads one to believe that Lemony Snicket in Lemony Snicket's actual name.  However, upon reading an article about the upcoming movie, I found a slip-up in which the article mentioned his real name.  This article states (in paragraphs 9 and 10) that Lemony Snicket's real name is Daniel Hadler.  Here's the evidence:  http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hp&cf=prev&id=1808438229
So.. that's that.

I would go on to the next rumors and facts and things of interest that might be of interest.. but unfortunately (or fortunately), I cannot do so right now.  I must collect some sugar bowls from the Veritable French Diner.. and um.. yes.  There's my taxi.
